Recounting on the Seas
07:12
|
|||
Enter a beast of pure murder, disrupting the peace of the hall
Close the doors, sending across the sea for aid
Warriors heeding the call, summoned to distant shore, protecting all
Sail the great divide, soon comes the battle, no longer to hide
Coursing the sea as we laugh at the past
Long is the night while the monster still takes breath
Tales keep us warm while exposed to the cold air
Soon to arrive and the burden they will share
Death lingers on, why are we so cursed?
Counting the days until the lifting arrives
A band of warriors bring aid to keep us alive
Pulling ashore, the young soldiers embark
Tension across the land soon to be cloaked by the dark
Tales told, all are heroic battles and brawls
Seeking the end, rallying heroes to defend the hall
Now they march on, traveling forests to greet a king
Battle will commence, an uplifting outlook the warriors bring

The Great Mead Hall
06:25
|
|||
Step forth from the woods, the warriors of Geatland
Set with a purpose bold, to bring warmth in the cold
Blades and shields at hand, to fight at their lord's command
Arriving at their destination, approaching the hall
Like the great stag it stands proud, the great hall
Enter among the thanes, welcomed by Hrothgar and all
Light within, once joy in the fog, a peace now disturbed
The king calls them forth to hear all that has been learned
Gifted with horses adorned in gold
The hall is welcoming, a feast is set
Mead flows free for early celebration
But the wise one cautions it's too early yet

The monster is pained by their sound
Planning to strike out at all in his path, crushing it all into the ground
But new warriors now stand in his way
Unknown to the beast blinded by rage
Lying in wait, feigning a rest
Refusing to wield a weapon, now put to the test
Lurking is heard outside the hall then Grendel appears
Beowulf leaps to action without sword or spear
The battle commences, like titans clashing up high
Loyal companions draw their own steel but the beast wouldn't die
Skin like a rock, deflecting the blades left and right
Though aiding their leader swords would not prevail this night
The mightiest warrior grabs onto the monster's arm
The creature thought himself impervious to harm
Through sheer strength the beast was killed, its whole arm torn away
Victory belongs to the warriors this day

Monsters of the Lake
05:32
|
|||
Mother of the creature lurks, out to seek revenge
Slaying a loyal Dane, then escaping to her lair
King and the Geats hunt the creature to a lake
With new blade in hand, the warrior leaps into the deep
At the furthest depths a cave comes into sight
But monsters are surrounding, thus begins a furious fight
Stabbing with Hrunting, clinging to breath, striving to sink further still
Ending the threat, the hero makes his way forward through the depths
Approaching the entrance, unsure of what waits within
But soon another battle will begin

Cavern deep in the lake
Pulled inside, destiny awaits
Combat starts and the creature looks to prevail
The gifted sword fails
The monster stabs with her sword but finds only armor
Biting into defense
The hero spots demise on the wall
Blade of giants to take the beast's head
Further into the cave lies the body of Grendel
Decapitate it
The blade melts under burning blood
Beowulf completes his task
Return to the surface, companions rejoice
Victory
Returning to the great hall with prize in hand
King and subjects stand
Presenting a head to the king
Heorot is now safe, of this the bards shall sing

Threat of Fire
05:25
|
|||
The warriors return home and in time the hero becomes a king
Decades pass and a dragon is burgled
Raging like thunder, the dragon burns all around
The hero intends to fight, tells his companions to step back
Wait for the outcome at the barrow, I go to attack
Beowulf, the warrior king, stands alone
Climbing down to engage the beast or be dethroned
The mighty one is outmatched, his companions fear for their lives
But a lone man rushes forth, coming to his aid
Together they defeat the dragon but now the king lies dead
Beowulf is sent off by his people and many tears were shed
